How to send a copyright complaint to Books Supply, and how we handle counter-notices.
Books Supply respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our readers to do the same.
Before you write
Much of what appears here is quotation for the purpose of review and criticism. If your complaint concerns a short quotation used in a review, tell us the article URL and the passage, and explain why you consider the use to exceed fair quotation.
Filing a notice
Send a written notice to dmca@books.supply containing:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The exact URL on our site where the material appears.
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
We acknowledge notices within 3 business days. Material that is clearly infringing is removed or restricted promptly, and the contributor who posted it is notified.
Counter-notices
If your material was removed and you believe the removal was mistaken, send a counter-notice to the same address with the same level of detail. We will forward it to the original complainant and restore the material if no legal action is reported.
Repeat infringement
Accounts and contributors who repeatedly post infringing material are removed.
